Huge Blown & Sculpted Murano Glass Pendant on Silk Cord

A stunning blown Murano glass bead in shades of bronze, black and baby blue. It measures 45MM (1 3/4"), with a depth of 14MM and is paired with a black hand dyed silk cord. This is really a seasonless piece.

This blown bead is of gallery quality. It requires two different techniques to achieve the end result. It is first blown in the traditonal methods attaching the millefiori to the beads in the process. The finished bead is then taken to the grinding wheel where the glass is ground to expose the millefiori underneath and to give it a textured appearance. No two ever exactly alike. The base color is black which is exposed beneath the white in the grinding.

Above and below the bead are antique brass filigree bead caps. Nestled at the top of the bead is a 6MM jet AB Swarovski crystal bicone.

The pairing with the silk cord really makes the bead pop. The necklace measures 18". The pendant drop measures just under 3" from the top of the heavy sterling silver Bali bail.

Sterling silver wire, bail and lobster clasp. The clasp measures 14". A heavy sterling silver split ring is used for extra security.
